Rhode Island Clean Energy Student Training & Experience for Professional Success (STEPS) Initiative
BGS is thrilled to be the Lead Education and Opportunity Partner for the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources Student Training & Experience for Professional Success (STEPS) Initiative . Over the past two years, BGS worked to recruit BIPOC students into clean energy internship roles and provided clean energy career awareness, professional development, mentoring and community building opportunities for all interns in partnership with Emerald Cities Collaborative.

IMPACT
BGS, in partnership with Emerald Cities Collaborative, worked to recruit and match BIPOC-identifying students with clean energy internships while also providing educational and career workshops to all summer interns participating in program. Workshops focused on clean energy careers, environmental justice, career navigation resources and career counseling sessions. The program culminates with a Rhode Island Clean Energy Networking event which brings together students and employers throughout the ecosystem.
