Rhode Island Clean Energy Internship Program
BGS worked as the Lead Education and Opportunity Partner for the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources Clean Energy Internship Program. Over the past two years, BGS worked to recruit BIPOC students into clean energy internship roles and provided clean energy career awareness, professional development, mentoring and community building opportunities for all interns in partnership with Emerald Cities Collaborative.
IMPACT
BGS, in partnership with Emerald Cities Collaborative, worked to recruit and match BIPOC-identifying students with clean energy internships while also providing educational and career workshops to all summer interns participating in program. Workshops focused on clean energy careers, environmental justice, career navigation resources and career counseling sessions. The program culminates with a Rhode Island Clean Energy Networking event which brings together students and employers throughout the ecosystem.
